A perfect introduction to an O&CO. best seller! This basil olive oil is naturally produced in Puglia, southern Italy, from olives and basil leaves. Basil brings all of its aromatic freshness and strength to the olive oil.
The production process occurs in two stages, the first one in the summer, and the second in the winter. From September, the mill master gathers bunches of fresh basil which are macerated with olive oil in stainless steel tanks. The second step occurs during the olive harvest in November: basil and olives are gathered at the same time and pressed together with the millstone.
The mix of both preparations gives the basil olive oil a perfect balance of freshness and power, an ideal accompaniment to any pasta dish, or simply drizzled over a tomato and mozzarella salad.
