This specialty comes from the Tras-os-Montes region of Portugal. The owner of the press “A Capela dos Olivais” wanted to introduce a traditional practice from the Abruzzi region of Italy, where the olives are pressed with lemons picked when still green. The results are amazing: the oil has an intense color and taste that can enhance all types of dishes.
USES: Delicious drizzled over salads, on fish, pasta, vegetables, strawberries and sorbet.

Upon my first visit to France, I found this oil in an O&CO and have been hooked ever since--It is by far my favorite of all the oils! It goes great on grilled chicken and veggies, especially green beans and artichokes. It is also fabulous on some fresh pasta with a little bit of parmigiana cheese--delicious!!! (Posted on 5/13/10)
