This Vosges native came to Lourmarin in 1975 where she found both a career and her husband. In marrying Guy Sammut, whose family owned La Fenière, she also somewhat wed Claudette, his mother, a talented cook who passed along her own passion for the savors of the Luberon region. Reine, on her way to a career in medicine, finally abandoned her studies and became involved with food professionally.

After several years at La Fenière, she has become a renowned interpreter of Mediterranean cuisine. Reine decided to highlight her green olive tapenade with simply a touch of anchovy cream: delicious and addictive!.
