The golden elixir of French olive oils- delicate, floral and fruity, with a light touch of vegetal notes. The “Moulin de l’Olivette”, located in beautiful Haute-Provence, France, was created in 1928 in the form of a farmers’cooperative and includes 2,000 producers. The famous French writer Jean Giono used to give his olives to this mill.

Haute-Provence was recognized as AOC in 1999. The AOC ((Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) designation, as for wine and cheese, insures that this olive oil is made from specific varietals of olives grown in very well defined geographic areas that reflect very distinctive terroir tastes and aromatic characteristics. It guarantees the product’s origin and uniqueness.

Floral, and fragrant, but not peppery, I love it! I use it drizzled over grilled veggies, such as red peppers, for bread dipping and even as a marinade.
