Pissaladiere - Traditional Provencal Onion Pizza


  • 1 thin crust pre-made pizza or you may make your own, pre-cooked until firm
  • 2 medium sized yellow onions
  • 1 dozen black olives
  • Herbes de Provence
  • 3-5 tbsp. of sugar
  • O&CO. Everyday Olive Oil


  1. Cut onions in half & slice into medium thin half circles .
  2. Sauté onions in pan with olive oil and sprinkle with salt./li>
  3. Once onions become translucent, add 1T sugar, stir frequently. Continue until all sugar has been added.
  4. Cook 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Add Herbes de Provence.
  6. Coat pizza crust with a layer of olive oil.
  7. Spread onions and olives over crust, sprinkle with Herbes de Provence.
  8. Bake 10 minutes or according to instructions for pre-made crust.
