Plum Crazy Crostini


  • 1/4 cup O&CO. Everyday Olive Oil 
  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup rough chopped dried plums (prunes)
  • 2 tbsp. O&CO. Cherry Balsamic Vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 24, 1/3 inch thick sourdough or French bread baguette slices
  • 2 oz. smooth goat cheese
  • 2 oz. good quality crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tbsp. finely grated lemon peel
  • Fresh cracked black pepper


  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large skillet, sauté onions for 8 minutes. 
  2. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute more, stir in plums, vinegar, and maple syrup; transfer to food processor and use the on/off button to pulse just until mixed and still chunky. 
  3. Brush remaining oil on both sides of bread slices. 
  4. Place slices on large baking sheet and toast each side lightly under broiler.
  5. To assemble mix goat cheese and blue cheese in small bowl, spread onto one side of bread, top with plum mixture and garnish top with lemon peel. 
  6. Add desired amount of black pepper to the tops. *Makes 24
